What exactly is a Walk-In Tub?

A Walk-In Tub is a bathtub designed so that you may walk-in and sit on a 'chair-height' seat just like sitting at a table. Because the walk in threshold is only 4 inches and the seat height is 17 inches, it's easy to enter, and exit and use for those who have sore muscles, achy bones or mobility challenges. In addition, our Walk-In Tubs are designed to fill up to shoulder level with water, allowing a comfortable 'spa-like' full body soak.

I have some mobility issues, but do I really need a Walk-In Tub?

This is really a personal decision. We all love to think we are as strong and able bodied as we once were.  However bathrooms are the most dangerous rooms in the home.  According to a study from the University of Michigan Health System,  a third of people age 60 and older had difficulty getting into or out of a bathtub even with safety equipment installed.  Also the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society (August 2006) reports a higher than unsafe contact results in body transfer to andfrom bathing areas.  Consider the discomfort and money lost due to painful falls resulting in injuries requiring expensive rehab and time away from home. Keep your independence and protect your dignity, transform your old tub into a safe and secure spa! Our Walk-In Tub has safety features like grab bars, low walk in threshold, chair height seating, corner caddies, soap dishes and hand operated spray nozzles. We already have clients that rave about improved quality of life due to the benefits and convenience of warm water soaking.

How long to the take to install?

Our factory trained professionals typically install a Walk-In Tub in 2 days for most applications. Our Walk-In Tub is specifically designed to work with existing plumbing systems, and this helps us save on installation time. In addition, we employ a unique ‘one-of-a-kind’ systemized process to ensure the best installation.

How much do Walk-In Tubs cost?

Much of this depends on how much is needed to be done and the desired options. Each Walk-in bathtub is 100% customizable, there are dozens of features, options, patterns and colors available making it difficult to quote even a ball park price. However, be very leery shopping for Walk-In Tubs based on price alone as you do get what you pay for. Consider that plumbing and electrical work will be needed.  You may be able to find a cheaper Walk-In Tub, but the question will not be IF you have a problem but WHEN. Imagine calling the installer only to find they are out of business. Pricing can be frustrating and there is much to know before beginning such a project, therefore we offer a free no obligation consult with financing available. Rest assured, we offer the very finest Walk-In Tub from Jacuzzi.

How durable are they, what is the expected lifetime?

Our Walk-In Tub are the very best available from the trusted name of Jacuzzi (since 1956), under normal use and care, your new Walk-In Tub should be the only tub you ever need!

With all the water, do they take a long time to fill and empty?

No. Our Walk-In Tubs operates at about 55 gallons of water which may seem like a lot. Typically they take a few minuets to fill, and with our patented Quick Release Drain system (which quickly drains the tub) you’re not waiting around getting chilled when finished.

How secure is door from leaks?

Leaks have always been an issue with Walk-In Tubs. This is due to poor engineering design of supporting tub framework and the ‘door sealing system’ in order to keep costs down. Walk-in bathtubs have either an inward-opening or outward-opening door. We feel the best kind are the inward-opening door because they self seal when the tub is full of water. These are the only Walk-In Tubs that we offer.

What colors and patterns are available?

We offer 2 choices in tub color and dozens of choices in wall patterns, textures and color. With a little creative design (of which we can assist), you can create the perfect utopia and most enjoyable and secure bathing experience ever.
